Last month we helped launch the new First Class A380 seat for Qatar Airways at an industry exhibition in Berlin.
We worked with the stand designers / builders to dovetail a simple but slick reveal: we covered an 8-metre carbon fibre roller with a field cloth, which we used to cover the open side of Qatar Airways’ exhibition stand. Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker and the airline’s new country manager for Germany and Austria, Günter Saurwein, stood in front of the cloth and introduced the airline’s new luxury First Class seats.
On the signal, Guy Ferguson (Technical Director, Multimedia Plus) cued the cloth to fall. Stunned on-lookers gasped as the seat was revealed whilst string quartet, Siren played. Smoke and lights provided further atmosphere.
The new seat features a 90-inch seat pitch, transforming into a fully flat bed, together with an expansive choice of entertainment options displayed on individual 26-inch television screens.
