DAF TRUCKS SALES CONFERENCE
Project: DAF Trucks Sales Conference (Sales and After Sales)
Location: The Midland Hotel, Manchester
Spec: 3 projector widescreen with mapped feature side screens
Client: DAF Trucks
Audience: DAF Dealers, DAF Management, Sales and After Sales Staff
Earlier this year, DAF Trucks hosted back-to-back Dealer events at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, first presenting to its sales teams and then to its after sales teams.
The two events, which spanned 2 days had the theme of ‘The Power to Perform’ and combined business updates, motivational sessions and a celebratory element—the latter of which focused on how well the dealer community had performed during the last financial year.
At the end of day 1, attendees enjoyed a gala dinner with guest speaker Richard West, who gave a presentation on the parallels between team performance within F1 and team performance in a business setting.
The Rehearsal:
In the run up to the event, Multimedia Plus set up a mini widescreen rig (including lectern, speakers and mics) at DAF head office, so that each speaker could practise and rehearse. Multimedia Plus also took this opportunity to shoot some footage of two speakers who were staging a ‘Two Ronnies’ skit to introduce their session.
The Kit:
Despite restricted space and a low ceiling at the hotel, Multimedia Plus squeezed in a 3-projector, panoramic wide screen set and multiple side projected columns. Onto these were projected graphic-rich Keynote presentations for the 12 different speakers.
On the day, the Multimedia Plus team used NewTek’s innovative ‘Network Device Interface’ (NDI) technology, which enables compatible systems, devices, and applications to connect and communicate over IP to share video, audio, and data.
Creative Technologist, Guy Ferguson explained: “We captured widescreen Keynote from 4K screen through NDI and outputted via Watchout. Using NDI/vMIx, we controlled comfort monitors for the speakers, including picture in picture, a countdown timer, speaker notes and live messages. At the awards ceremony gala dinner, we used a CCTV-type rig to capture footage of the award winners in their seats and as they came up to the podium. It was all very Hollywood!”
The Testimonials:
Attendee and recipient of “Dealer of the Year 2017”, Sukhdev Singh from Imperial Commercials commented: “Thanks for excellent planning and execution of both conferences—a superb balance of business, motivation and celebration.”
Russell Patmore, DAF Business Planning Director added: “Thank you to your and your teams for your incredible efforts in going the extra mile and pulling everything together—it was very much appreciated by both the Dealers and DAF. Sukhdev’s note is representative of the typical feedback I received following both events. Well done!”
